The Old Colony Council Venturing Week program is a one week program, which is conducted at Camp Squanto. This nationally recognized camp provides excellent facilities and environment for course participants and staff.
Venturing Week is for registered Venturers and older Scouts (for co-ed youth ages 13 and going into the 9th grade through age 20). When registering online for this program, you will be prompted to choose a program track for the week. In previous years, the available program tracks have included: COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience), cycling, Lifeguard Certification, Sea Scouts, and SCUBA. In addition to the track selections, camp programs are available in the afternoon. These include: First Aid, Land Navigation, Emergency Preparedness. Cooking, Swimming/Boating, Communications, Wilderness Survival, Conservation, Leave-no-Trace, Mountain Boarding, Blacksmithing, Search and Rescue, and More! For information about equipment, dress code, check-in time, check-out time, and other Venturing Week policies, go to the program website http://venturingweek.oldcolonycouncil.org
Old Colony Council offers the Venturing Week program during summer camp week 6 each year. The vision of this program is to provide youth with a co-ed, lead-by-example, outdoor experience of Venturing.
Note: The Venturing Week program cost is eligible for the camp's price discount program. See the details on this discount when completing the course registration form.
